FASE is an independent publication by Stereolism.
It brings together people who engage with
sound, image, or language,
connecting the audible and the visible.
We’re seeking musicians, artists, and writers
to submit work for our first issue.
THEME OF ISSUE 1: FORM
For our first issue, we’re exploring Form in all its dimensions. What does it mean to take form? Is it a pattern, a process, or the act of becoming? In sound, form is structure; in visuals, it’s the shape that feeling takes; in writing, it’s how ideas find shape: the way language builds tension, releases emotion, or carves out silence between words.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
MUSIC
FASE’s foundation lies in sound: its architecture, its movement, and its ability to give shape to feeling. Submissions may be considered for one of three formats:
A feature, offering an in-depth profile of your work, process, and artistic vision.
A spotlight, providing a focused look at a specific project, release, or performance.
An interview, conducted by our editorial team, providing us with further insight into your creative approach and perspective.
If you’re a musician, producer, composer, or collective of any music genre, we’d love to hear from you. We want to understand how you build your artistic identity.
Please include:
A short artist bio (150–250 words)
Links to recent or upcoming releases (Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or streaming)
A few sentences about your creative process and how your work engages with form
Optional press photos, artwork, EPK, etc.
We’re especially interested in artists who think carefully about how their music is built, specifically how structure, texture, and sound shape the listener’s experience.
We also invite user-submitted music reviews: thoughtful reflections on albums, singles, or live performances.
Submissions can range from brief impressions to longer essays; what matters most is the listener’s perspective and voice.
Whether you create music or write about it, we want to hear how you listen.
ART
We invite submissions of visual art, photography, illustration, and design that explore or challenge structure and space. From composition and framing to texture and movement, how do you define form in the visual world?
Photography / Visual Art: Up to 10 images (300 dpi preferred), with up to 1000 words of context/artist statement.
Experimental / Interdisciplinary: Open format, with up to 1000 words of context/artist statement.
Accepted works will appear both in print and digital versions of the issue.
LITERATURE
We accept unpublished work only. Simultaneous submissions are welcome; please notify us if your piece is accepted elsewhere.
Responses to the theme are encouraged but not required. We welcome all works that reflect FASE’s spirit — the intersection of sound, visual art, and literature.
Genres
Nonfiction: up to 4,000 words
Fiction: up to 2,500 words
Poetry: up to 2 pages
READY TO SUBMIT?
The submission deadline is December 21, 2025, at 11:59 PM PT (Pacific Time).
Before you send your work, please make sure that:
Your file is clearly labeled with your name, title, and category (e.g., Firstname Lastname_Title_Fiction).
Written pieces are in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format.
Visual works are submitted as .jpg or .png files (300 dpi preferred).
Music submissions or music features include streaming or download links (Bandcamp, SoundCloud, or private link).
Contributors retain all rights to their work. FASE requests non-exclusive rights to publish accepted pieces in both print and digital editions, and may share short excerpts or visuals on social media with full credit.
If you submit to more than one category, please send each in a separate email or form entry.
We review all submissions with care and intention. Please allow 3-4 weeks for a response; each piece is considered both individually and in conversation with the issue’s overall form.
If you’re ready, send everything to
fase@stereolism.com
we look forward to hearing from you.
Questions & Answers
Q: Do I need to be a musician or writer to submit?
A: Not at all. We welcome anyone whose work explores sound, image, or emotion, through any artistic medium.
Q: Is FASE print or digital?
A: Both. Each issue will exist in digital and limited print editions. The digital version is free to access because we believe art and sound should be available to anyone who connects with them. The limited print edition will be available for purchase. Proceeds from physical sale will help cover operational costs and fund future issues. Details on pricing and preorders will be announced closer to the release date.
Q: Are contributors paid?
A: Not yet. We operate as an independent publication under Stereolism, but contributors will receive physical copies and full credit in both editions.
Q: Is there a submission fee?
A: No. All submissions are free.
Q: How can I support FASE?
A: The best way to support us is to participate. For example, submit your work, share the call with others, and check out other works by the artists, writers, and musicians featured in each issue. Every submission and repost helps build the creative network that FASE exists for. You can also support us by purchasing the limited print edition when it’s released. If you’d like to collaborate, we’d love to hear from you! Whether you’re part of an independent label, collective, gallery, or small press, we’re always open to building bridges between creative communities.
